A new useless project from Liron Lavi Turkenich

the Daily duo

This project is a 30-day challenge for myself.

Do you also have dozens of tabs open with articles to read or links that you want to revisit?

I do. And I keep adding more and more to it.

This fall, I plan to add two links to interesting stuff that I did read every day. After adding them here, I’ll gladly close the tab and feel a tiny bit lighter.

What will you find here? Design, design theory and research, typeface design, productivity, lifestyle, slow movement, veggie recipes, simple parenting, education, business and marketing, and any other resource that I’ll find interesting.

Feel free to share, visit my personal Instagram page, or even better:

Join this challenge by using #thedailydue on IG and add your own links!

Here is what ‘done is better than perfect’ means:

If I had to edit my bio to make it fun and snappy (like this webpage is!), or had to spend time to fix the leading here, this project would never get published.

As Mark Twain said: “I apologize for such a long letter – I didn’t have time to write a short one.”

So, here are my formal few lines:

Liron Lavi Turkenich is an independent typeface designer and a design entrepreneur based in Israel. She holds a B.Des in Visual Communications from Shenkar College in Tel Aviv and an MA in Typeface Design from University of Reading, UK.

Liron designs multilingual typefaces for international companies, specializing in Hebrew and Amharic. Among them is Aravrit, a new hybrid writing system which merges Hebrew and Arabic, and has received wide recognition for its ingenuity and scope. Additionally, she runs 52 ideas, a weekly newsletter with notes on productivity, activeness and running multiple projects. She loves asking questions while interviewing designers, teaching and researching lost Hebrew typefaces.

Liron has several years of organising and curating an international typeface conference. She shares her knowledge and experiences in lectures and workshops around the world. Liron loves traveling, searching for the finest coffee, and searching for typographic treasures in dusty archives.

The best place to find me nowadays is Instagram. My personal or Aravrit’s
